Thoughts on Kohler 7000 series engines

"The thing down in there" is the bypass valve. Either the 3614 size filter
or the still longer 3600 size (if there's room) will work just fine.

My 2¢

I have a new 26HP kohler 7000 series pro, I have 5 hours on it and would like to do a oil change, all I have on hand for oil is, Amsoil 100% synthetic small engine oil10w 40 is that weight ok to run in these engines. Thanks

I'd have to dig back through my records. I'm sitting at 130 hours on a 24hp 7000. After a while it got to be hard to start, pulled the valve covers off and did a valve adjustment. Super easy, cover it RTV'ed on. Helped immensely, they were pretty far out of spec.

Looks like I did the adjustment somewhere around 60 hours.

It'll be just fine. Run it with confidence.
