Thoughts on Formula Shell?

I'm sure it works just fine if your specs such an oil. I wouldn't use it myself however. There are VOA's on PQIA's website.
I bought Formula Shell years back when Pep Boys was giving rebates. I did a 3,000 mile run with straight 30 wt oil, and Blackstone labs said it was so clean that I could resell it.
My 93 MB 190e 2.3 is still on the road with 274,000 miles. Back then it was $.49 to $.59 a quart with the rebate.

I've used it for 5k runs and have had no issues with it.
I like it and prefer it over Valvoline conventional or Castrol GTX

I have used it many times. Runs quiet and from Ive seen keeps things clean. I usually run it between 4-5k. Pqia's voa looks good, though I think it was a little outdated.
menards used to have it on sale for 1.99 a qt then the big change to Valvoline , looks like it has a similiar add pack to Quaker State Conventional and a good viscosity index
Its been used along with Quaker State Conventional and other similar tier oils in my Mustang since purchased at 80k with regular changes. 140k now and she has more pep than ever (of course, better cams and intake manifold helped that).
Good, solid quality product. If you can get it for $2/qt its a great deal.
Sams club certified 10w30 is made by shell. I wonder if its the same as formula shell. It sales by the case of 12 for $24.
Canadian Tire store brand oil is made my shell and it goes on sale once a month. Usually 5 litres is about $14 Canadian or $9 U.S. I regularly use this oil for 7,500 miles or more. Never had a problem. Formula Shell must be this good or better if not the identical oil.
We use it all of our GSE equipment and it seems to do ok. Haven't had a lubricant related failure yet.

I would say completely interchangeable.

I ran it in my 2006 Hyundai Azera and it performed as well as Quaker State Ultimate Durability and Pennzoil Platinum. PepBoys had a deal for 6 quarts and after rebate it was $5.00. I think Formula Shell works as well as Mobil Super 5000, Quaker State Advanced Durability, Pennzoil Conventional and oils like them. I had zero concerns in using it.
The differences in marketing between Pennzoil conventional, Quaker State conventional and Formula Shell are far bigger than the differences in the product, I'd wager.
IMHO, FS is as good as Quaker State Conventional or Pennzoil Conventional and is probably an upgrade over Valvoline conventional.
I'd use it without hesitation and I have.
I got the FS I have in my stash for $1.69/qt, but then I'm talking USD in the US which does make a difference.
If the price makes sense to you, buy it and use it.
OTOH, if Valvoline conventional is a better deal, I'd be happy using that as well although it does have an entirely different add pack.

I agree. I think you have them ranked in the order the marketing money is likely spent.

The oil has to be better if it is the official oil of NASCAR !

I would agree with that. As an aside, I'd wonder what Quaker State's deal with the Force India F1 team is worth. I'm sure it pales in comparison to Shell and Ferrari, but it's not going to be cheap.
