Thoughts on Castrol High Mileage

My 2001 4Runner with the V6 is about to hit 75K. Oil has always been done at 3k. I have used either Valvoline or Castrol conventional oil but Castrol for the past 3 years. It's not burning any oil between changes. Should I even think about switching to the higher mileage Castrol at 75K

I'd just use the regular oil. Unless you're burning oil or leaking, I would stick with the regular stuff.

I think that " high mileage" oils are mostly marketing [censored]. I use the same 5w30 in my truck that I have for years. It has over 150K and doesn't consume any oil at all. When it does I will move up to 10w40.

I had great resuts with it. Took an oil burner/leaker down to near zero consumption. I prefer it over MaxLife. The 5w30 is a thick 30 that fits well in a Euro spec app, that's where I used it.

Maybe you should just fix the oil leaks instead.

My consumption dropped significantly after replacing the failed gaskets instead of messing around with high mileage products.
