Tire Rack has a great price on Bridgestone Potenza Sport, 255/45R18.

Regular price is $240 per tire. Closeout price of four tire, including sales tax and delivery is $460.27.

These tires would be for a 2012 MB S550, a vehicle that is rarely driven. The current back tires are bald. The tires appear to be designed for summer use.
UTQG: 300 AA A
Load range XL

Any thoughts/ comments on these tires?

Update- purchased the tires, to many things aligned to make the purchase:
- $80 USD instant rebate (no gift card rebate) that appears to end the last day of November (in a few hours)
- Closeout pricing $126 per tire (original price $239)
- Shipping of tires to Discount Tire, not going to my home so my Wife doesn't have to bring the tires in the house
- Scheduled installation for 16DEC2024- the latest I could schedule out, I will reschedule for 27DEC2024 when I am in CONUS for holidays

Many things lined up, so I pulled the trigger. Half price, instate rebate, shipping to Discount Tire, could not pass up. Discount Tire install of $100 USD. I will purchase new TPMS sensors from RockAuto.

Lots of reviews- big complaint on the tire and it is a huge complaint, tires wear fast. Minor note- tires were manufactured in 2021, I know some have issues with that.

It is a max-performance tire; it will wear out fast.
Like any Bridgestone, it will be hard tire. They are known for sturdy, heavy construction. Plus side is steering wheel feedback is sometimes actually too much, like it is too eager to react when you give input to steering wheel.

max performance(or UHP?) summer only tire hope you have no snow or below 32f weather.

Hard ride and short life... more for a BMW in the twisties than a plush mercedes imo.

When the Yokohama Avid GTs get to wear bars I plan on upgrading them to Potenza all-seasons on a 2024 Rav4 Prime XSE. I drive it like a Supra.

here you go also:

Wasn't there an update to Sport a couple of years back?
But I must agree about Bridgestone's protection of rims and generally very sturdy construction.
I hit with a BMW small curb doing donuts in the snow with my daughter couple years back. The tire and the wheel made contact. Both survived, but my subframe, where one of the control arms connects, did not.
I still have those tires (winter Blizzak WS-90) and that wheel I use now as a spare, just in case.

I find their “all” tires to be mediocre. Specialty tires, either strictly summer or winter tires, I find to be much better.
