Thoughts on '08/'09 Mitsubishi Eclipse V6?

I have an older Eclipse. It was OK until high mileage. I have never had a car with more mechanical problems like blown main engine oil gasket, failed clutch, blue smoke in the exhaust, broken stabalizer timing belt, water pump, and on and on. I would suggest a Chrysler Crossfire. You can buy them for less that 18K and they are made by Mercedes and not Chrysler. While I haven't owned one, I have heard that this is a very well made sporty car for the price.

The Crossfire is based on a Mercedes platform, but it is made by Chrysler.

If it's a good car for the price, that's only because it's cheap...

That's a great deal. If you are spending ~$20K for a car, you'd be much better off with new vs. used - as far as warranty goes. Don't the new Mitsus still come with 100K powertrain warranty? I've always like the Eclipses. I had a couple of 2nd Gen Turbo Talons. They were very fun.

I think I would consider a lower end Mustang before even thinking about an Eclipse. Also read the thread regarding the Genesis. Supposedly the coupe uses a variant of the engine used int eh Mitsu Evo.
