I know this is an old thread but I enjoyed reading it. Maybe others will also.
My '06 Grand Cherokee 4.7L joined the 150000 mile club yesterday. The engine still purrs like new and everything else still works pretty well too. OCI 5000 mi max with whatever name brand conventional or synthetic oil I get a good deal on. Last 2 years been using NAPA ProSelect or Silver filters.
It's been a great truck. No major repairs. I do as much maintenance/repairs as I can myself. I hope to get many more years out of it.

167k miles on my fusion and running strong
98 328i 10w40 maxlife 158,000. Head replaced last year.
1998 chevy 1500 w/t 4.3 origional owner, 228000. Never had too many issues with this vehicle. Still the og intake gasket, used mobil extended 5w30 for ever, just recently switched to castrol 0w40.
2006 gmc envoy xl 5.3 168000. Massive issues with this ride, but not oil related, mostly electrical. Collapsed lifter at 86000, was only mechanical issue. Not oil related, bad design. Valvoline 10w30 high milage.
2004 buick lesabre 178000. 0w40 castrol in this ride also.

Present and past of my brother's family and myself:
'72 Subaru: Still running well at ~190K, but engine worn; dumped because of rust;
'74 VW Dasher (Passat): No lubrication issues except engine damaged (at ~170K?) because of failed genuine VW air filter;
'81 Mazda GLC: No evident engine lubrication issues or wear in 606K; dumped because of coolant passage leak and general age;
'85 VW Jetta: No evident engine lubrication issues or wear in ~330K, dumped because of unrepairable shift linkage.
'94 Camry 4 cyl.: Uses a little oil, but runs well; current mileage unknown, but well over 200K;
'95 Toyota Avalon: Recently began noticeable consumption at ~340K; runs like new;
'96 Camry 4-cyl.: Used a little oil, but ran well until engine self-destructed at ~250K by unexpectedly over-revving at start-up; (???)
'97 Mazda 626: Dumped at a little over 200K due to plugged converter due to massive oil consumption; possibly abused by previous owner.
All the above used whatever brand conventional oil was on sale in appropriate grades, except the Avalon, which has used various brands of synthetic since new. Mostly 10W-40 in the GLC and Jetta.

Sienna with 278k miles and toyota t100 truck with 241k miles. Both run amazingly
'05 Camry 4-cyl. 230k miles. Slight oil consumption - I estimate about 0.5qt over 6k miles which is very good. Was rear ended a couple years ago causing damaged to rear bumper, muffler, and spare tire well, but no mechanical damage. Drives very well.

2006 GMC Sierra Denali AWD 6.0L - 151,455 miles. First oil change was at 1500 miles and I used Mobil 5000 conventional. Ran that for 3500 miles and went to 5w30 Mobil 1 regular at 5-6000 miles intervals until 80,000 mile and switched to Mobil 1 Extended performance 5w30. Last oil change I just did 2 weeks ago I switched to Mobil 1 High Mileage and will continue this oil for here on out. Still doing 5-6000 mile intervals. Truck runs like new and NO issues ever.
2008 Cadillac CTS 3.6DI - actually only 144k miles but will be @150k soon as it's my daily driver and I commute an average of 100 miles per day. This car has had Mobil 1 since new, went to Mobil 1 Extended Performance around 60k miles and then to Mobil 1 high mileage at the 105k mile mark. Excellent service from it, only issue was timing chains which were replaced under warranty at the 50k mile mark.

1997 Jag XJ6 24v with 180K and 1988 Big Bronco 302 with 218K. Just sold BBC Chevy truck with 440K, but it had a few motors
Last F-100 was 1962 with 387K when I sold it. On third short block, but that was because the 11" clutch would push out the thrust bearing at around 125K, no matter what oil you ran ... Had VW Scirocco with 215K when I sold it. Volvo 242 Turbo 5-speed with 288K ...
My other 2 current vehicle do not have 150. The Saab 9-5 is at 142K and the "new" truck is 1993 F-150 5.8L with only 83K
All these ran/run on 15w40 HDEO. Usually Delo 400

I have a 2006 Silverado 4.8 LS1 since new. Always used Valvoline 5w30 synpower, and Walmart fram Tough Guard. It now has 239,000 on the ODO. But at 200,000!the filter started to show metal, researched a bit and found 2 cam lobes and corrsponding lifters making metal. Put a Crane LS power cam and new crane lifters in it 39,000 miles later it's running strong. Haven't touched the transmission at all. First year of synthetic xmsn fluid I believe.
My driving is 85% highway and the rest is whatever. NO towing at all.
I do pass people though so it does see 5000 RPM on occasion.
Great truck. Hope it goes another 250,000

Who said american iron doesn't last? Police officers abuse their vehicles pretty badly....they idle their vehicles relentlessly.....that thing most likely has twice as many miles if you go by hours!
I'll be happy if I can get 100-120k miles from my LS1......I don't see why it couldn't.

2003 Mustang GT daily driver at almost 150k, runs perfect. Pennzoil Platinum and Ultra quarts, mix of whatever grades were on AZ clearance, probably comes out close to 5w30.
2004 Chrysler T&C with 170k on the 3.8, runs perfect and never had an engine or transmission problem. Maxlife 5w30.
2004 Mazda 3s daughter daily driver with just over 160k, runs perfect. Maxlife Syn 5w30.

1975 Ford Capri : 493.000 Km ( 306k miles ) on original drivetrain except engine, replaced in 1991, current engine has about 90-100k miles, 2nd car, in regular use but not daily driver.
Rest of the drivetrain is original and has never been overhauled, only fluid changes.
Always been run on 20w50 conventional, 10W-40 Synthetic blends, Mobil 1 a few times early in the car's life.
Oil pressure good and burns no oil since changing the valve stem seals in Aug '16.

My mother's 1996 Ford Explorer Limited 4.0L OHV Cologne V6. I think she bought it in or around 2001 when it had under 90,000 miles, and currently it has over 180,000 miles (possibly near 185,000 miles). Oil changes with many different brands of conventional with OCI's between 3k to 5k miles. It's not her daily anymore as about 5 years ago we got her a 2005 Lincoln Aviator, but she still drives the Explorer from time to time as she doesn't want to sell it. I'm planning on changing the oil in it soon, possibly this coming week.
My 2010 Fusion just rolled over 236,000 miles today. Still going strong.
My previous highest-mileage car was my previous daily-driver - a 2003 Mercury Sable LS premium - which I sold with 189,000 miles on it.
