Those with 150,000 miles or more, check in

99 Ranger 4.0 just hit 160,000. Runs great.

ODO sensor was out of whack for a while so there are actually more miles than that on it.

150,583. 2006 chrysler t&c. 3.3 v6. Castrol gtx hi-mi since bought in sep. 2011 with fram xg filter. Had 102,000 when bought. Yea, we put miles on lol

Ahha I don't have anything under 150,000

Everything is Mobil 1, various viscosities. 0W-20 for the ECHO, 5W-20 for the Sienna (both back specs), 0W-30 for the Accord and 0W-40 for the BMW. I've had both the Toyotas since new and none of the four use much oil between changes.

2001 Saturn that just hit 150,000 miles. My cousin owned the car since new. She did 3000 mile OCIs using chevron supreme bulk from quick lube place where she lives. I purchased the car with 147,000 miles. Using Napa Bulk oil from my local mechanic. Planning on 3-4k mile OCIs

1994 Geo Prizm, 1.6L with 206K.

Bought it with 158k. Oil changes are whatever is on sale, including: Formula Shell, Mobil Super 5k, Castrol GTX, and now Havoline. I change out between 5-6k, and have used mostly QS filters (re-thinking >5k changes, as ADBV are failing).

2005 Dodge Grand Caravan, 3.8 engine, 158000 miles. Havoline 5w/30 for firs 36k miles. Switched to Pennzoil Platinum 5w/20 due to consumption issues at 36k after finding this site. Since then, I've done 5k-6k OCI's using Pennz Plat and occasionally Mobil1. I do a lot of short distance driving where the engine does not warm up. Current fill is Pennz Plat 0w/20 and may continue to run that year round at 5k-6k OCI's. Hoping to get another 100k on this engine. Runs great at this point with no problems.

2001 Chrysler Sebring, 2.4, 156k, bought at 138k, PO used Kendall for many years we have it on Maxlife runs fantastic.

2000 Chevy Lumina 3.1 "slapper" 150k bought with 56k has had lots of oils currently Maxlife got mostly GTX for a few years though.

1995 BMW 325i, 176k, bought almost 2 years ago @ 158k. PO used 20w-50 Valvoline bulk conventional since purchasing it as a lease return in 1998. Have all records, PO was a good one, but the engine looked just slightly varnished inside the filler cap. Ran 3 OCIs at about 6k using T6 twice then DELO 5w-40 syn, and didn't burn but a drop.

So I figured I'd drop it down to a 30wt (via blending) and see how it behaves. Too early to tell for sure but so far great! No burning, (yet anyway) averaging 27mpg, (up from 26) 80/20 hwy/city, but about 30-40% of the "hwy" miles are thick traffic East Bay commuting miles.

1998 Toyota Camry V6 with 225,000 miles - ran on Mobil 1 5w30 since the first oil change was done @ 100 miles. Intervals were 3-5k with oil changed done at the dealership. I started using Amsoil OE @ 190k and did my first UOA after 5k miles and haven't turned back.

2007 Civic EX 1.8L with 156,000 miles - ran on Mobil 1 5w20 since new doing 6-7k intervals as per the OLM. Now using Amsoil SS oils and doing 10-12k mile OCIs.

1994 Toyota Pickup 196,000 mostly Mobil One and Wix filters. Owned since new. Change oil at 3000.

2003 Toyota Rav4 227,000 Valvoline conventional and Wix filters. Owned since new. Change oil at 5000.

1999 Mazda Protege 168,000 Valvoline conventional and Wix filters. Bought this car when it had 128,000 on it. Change oil at 5000.

1994 Jeep Cherokee 202,000. Amsoil 10w30 once a year with an Amsoil filter. Uses less than a quart over the course of the year.

Cars in sig.

Ford has over 175K.
Toyota has over 160K.

My oldest car, the '95 Jag, has the fewest miles at 109K.

All run great; used many different oil brands on them over the years.

2006 Mercury Milan 2.3 4cly auto/ just turned 180,000.
Broke it in with a couple of 5w20 Halvoline oil changes.
Than switched to 5w20 PP and QSU change out every 6 to 8000.
Which ever one is on sale and I have stocked up on.
I changed over the cartridge oil filter unit to a spin on filter. I have been using QS and Motorcaft FL400S size filters.
QSU in the car now.
All trouble free miles. Car use no oil.

Just barely qualify with the Prius.

This is the only car (besides my first one, a '91 Cav) that has had more than 150,000 miles on it before I sold it or traded it.

I bought it at 126k and it ran like new. Beautiful car and it still runs great and performs perfectly to this day. Sees 125 miles a day highway 4x a week. Previous owner was a mayor and maintained it so well, I pulled the records from the dealership he frequented, looked at the list, and it averaged out to about 2,600 OCI's. I was ecctatic! That's a rare interval in this day and age unless you are a DIY'er. The shop told me they used Quaker State conventional every time and he took real good of his vehicle, oil changes were not the only thing that were frequented.

So far I've used a handful of oils :

  • Pennzoil High Mileage
  • Valvoline Max Life Next Gen
  • Havoline Deposit Shield
  • Mobil Super Synthetic
  • Quaker State Ultimate Durability (which it has liked the best)
  • and finally Mobil 1 European Blend

Runs fantastic!

Yeeeeah! This is almost verbatim what we ran on my wife's RAV 4 before we sold it and bought the Prius. Only thing different is we used the 14477 P1 as a filter instead of your Wix. OCI interval was the same. Sold it at 83k and it ran like a champ!

"Cars in sig" (ditto)

A bunch of different 10w30's over the years, HDEO's (including AME for 15K OCI's in the '91 420SEL) and now a blend of either HDEO or 20w50 and now a "matching" 10w40 (usually FAR or a $ as well) in the MB's: i.e., Mobil 5000 and Delvac, NexGen MaxLife 10w40 and Valvoline WB 20w50.

Cheers!

1971 Plymouth Road Runner - 313,000 miles on nothing but Valvoline conventional. Still runs like new. (Parents were original owners)

1997 Dodge Ram 1500 - 193,000 miles. Castrol GTX since new. Recently switched to Pennzoil Ultra.

1994 Oldsmobile Achieva - 172,000 miles. Valvoline conventional since purchased used in 1998.
