That guy clearly only goes by oil color and nothing else. The probably would look at us like we're from Mars if we mention a UOA. LOL.
I agree that if an oil is really dark on the dipstick, that you should change it, esp if your scheduled interval is coming up soon. All my oils are usually a really dark brown color when I pull a sample / change it. UOA show that all is well and I don't go ripping into the block to rebuild it
Hehe, I had the same reaction. It was like as soon as he opened his mouth I got the feeling he was going to make Aussies look stupid. I particularly love his carefully thought out evidence based argument (not) that Valvoline is "ok", Penrite is great, but both Shell and Castrol are complete rubbish.
I like the stack of laptops in the background. Perhaps they are on the short OCI treatment, also. If the oil turns black too fast, he'll have to pull them open and change the CPU.
