Thinking of oversizing. Will FL400S to FL1A work?

On the 4.0 yeah, it is vertical. But most V8 apps it was horizontal..or close to it.

If you have space on the mount on the FL400,

The larger Diameter FL842, FL300 and FL1A are the same. This is listed short to long.

My Ford calls for a FL1-A, but still interesting info if I ever axquire one that calls for a fl400/ph3600 series filter. Will the FL1A work were the FL820 is called for?
