Have the exact opposite issue in the Transits-they seem to default to recirc/max A/C every time the A/C is turned on!Having to change the same setting OVER AND OVER because the car thinks it's smarter than you, and resets it on every restart.
My Prius, for example, thinks I always want "no rear HVAC" and defaults to it to try and save a little MPG.
Or, have to replace or remount the tires when they don't even need it because the TPMS sensor batteries need replacing.Replace four TPMS sensors when installing new tires.
Only if you are throwing a code or not totally at operating temperature. When normal conditions persist it's a none issue.Drive for X number of times after disconnecting the battery before you can pass an inspection.
OBD2 readiness codes take a couple of drive cycles to get set. Won't pass an e-check until they do.Only if you are throwing a code or not totally at operating temperature. When normal conditions persist it's a none issue.
I do just like a simple mechanical car, some steering feel, real throttle cable, row my own gears, manual HVAC, dumb cruise is good enough, power windows and locks are nice with a remote. NA port FI engine, I think that's it. Also a wagon, no expensive parts inside the cabin to break, and not too many under the hood either. So I've got one for now, but the next one is going to be harder to find as unfortunately, these haven't been available for 17 years.Kumbaya beater club....
