As I understand it, the later versions of the short range flavor have the LiFePO4 battery pack. That vehicle would have to be dirt cheap for me to even consider it.That's too bad. They have the really long-lasting LiFePO4 batteries, I believe.
If it wasn't a lackluster crossover with the Ford name on it I'd consider it for the right price.A dealer I drive by on the way to work has a pretty good number of these sitting on their lot.
Should become a bargain hunter's dream for anyone with an interest in one of these EVs.
Yeah it's a bad time to buy any car if you don't need one.At a max of 33000 I'd think about it.
The whole car market is pricing itself out of sales.
Odd bit right now mazda is still at msrp or -500
SUBARU which has one of the least inflated msrp's is now trending between -1500 to -4000 depending on model.
Base forester is back to 27k... which is $2000 more than in 2014 with many more features.. eyesight etc.
The issue is that they've had problems with these too. Maybe it's worked out now. The last issue was that recall for overheated circuits resulting in slower acceleration. I'm one of those that doesn't care that they used the Mustang name. I've just never been a Mustang guy and I'm just not bothered by it, though weak acceleration recalls isn't a good look for something called Mustang. It's just not a good car. I wouldn't buy the Lightning either. I don't really trust Ford products and the dealership network sucks for service if you need anything beyond and oil change or tire rotation.Yeah. Probably similar to how it went down with the Mustang 2 from the 70's. They couldn't give those stupid things away either.
It's not that they're bad cars. It's that people don't like that they're called Mustangs.
For this reason, I think people are staying away from them on principal.
I truly hope the Corvette people are paying attention, since I've heard roomers that they might be thinking of slapping there name onto a suv/grocery getter type vehicle also.
My local mazda dealer advertises $2000 below msrp.At a max of 33000 I'd think about it.

Subaru also offers low interest financing at 48months or less.. which is significant in this market.
Disclaimer: numbers from memory.
Not a fan of those guys on youtube though.. Overall annoying + they put lots of spin on their content.. and try to turn excessive hype into clicks IMO.
Thats only half.. my mazda dealer(s) are near msrp (most off -500) and the financing is around 6% or more.My local mazda dealer advertises $2000 below msrp.
It's YouTube they have a shtick to try to entertain. It usually doesn't work. they have 25,430 in inventory to sell. 36k sold year to date. 4300 sold last month, all that with the $7,500 tax credit. I bet the strong Nov sales were pulled forward to take advantage of tax credit. In January when that goes away the sales will be less. I would say they have a problem.Mach-e actually sold quite well in Nov. 2023.
•Ford Mustang Mach-E: 4,294 (up 21% YOY)

This guy does lots of “sky is falling” type videos.
I test drove one and there was a lot to like about it. All the same EV driving qualities you are familiar with. And the seats were very comfortable. The interior volume seemed large, and yet Ford made sure to have door features (protruding speakers) that take up critical space by the knees. Ugh.Early on, they sold well around here. Hardly see them now. And it's pretty easy to sell an EV around here...
I have never been in one.
E for Eunos? If Mazda really wants to make money, they should come up with an electric 2 door suv, and then name it the Miata mach-E.
Who wouldn't want to buy one of those?
