My Jeep has low miles, and I'd like to keep it for a long time.
I know that the 4.0's are quite durable. Its not that I'm concerned that using the amsoil thats in it now wont give it a long life,
I was just wondering if any 4.0 owners out there that have run a 40 weight oil or and hdeo have LESS valvtrain noise after having run the thicker or more stout oil over the long run.
The amsoil XL is great, the engine just seems a bit noisier. I'm sure its doing fine in there, I just cant help but think that with this old tech motor, some old oil ideas might come into play.
Any thoughts? the problem is, I've got the winter to deal wtih. we see -20 C and sometimes colder, so synthetic is usually a must for anything above a 5w30.
