They didn't get her last time( well they did destroy her career )so they are trying again. Makes me sick.

The latest uproar is over a stupid HALLOWEEN photo from 4-5 years ago that was posted on her Facebook page by her social media manager. In the photo her son uses makeup to turn his skin brown to resemble a Latino. She went as Lucy and Bobby went as Desi Arnaz. The caption of the photo is...

"Lucyyyyyyy! You got a lot of esplainin' to do!"

I saw something on the news about it and a black reverend was talking about how reprehensible it was and how offended the black community is by it. WHAT THE HECK FOR?????

Desi was a Cuban/Latino( with lighter skin )not a black/African American for starters so what has the black community got to be riled up and offended about? I see nothing wrong with the caption either as he said it himself on the I Love Lucy show in EVERY episode practically. As for Bobby making his skin brown SO WHAT! It was a Halloween costume and he was trying to look like Desi Arnaz.

There was NOTHING racist or offensive in the picture or the caption. This is a case of people not being able to let something go and looking for things that are just not there. Makes me sick. This is why I get so upset when people just believe anything they hear. One accusation, even if it turns out to be false, and the person's life is ruined.

This is just STUPID. She has taken the photo down which I find to be a shame. She did nothing wrong and she should stand firm and tell the whiners and instigators to go pound 5 gallons of sand up their butts.

The story and photo are here...

After her first bout with the n-word..you would think she might avoid anything that has to do with skin color and a camera.

Maybe the third time is a charm for her...

I love Paula Dean, she's awesome!! I hope she stands her ground and tells anyone who has a problem with her to either screw themselves or look the other way.

My 1st response to your comments is the picture in question was taken before those false claims( law suit dismissed and found to be groundless )about her being a racist came out. The photo was from 2011 and the law suit was 2013. The 2nd thing I would say is she didn't post the photo, her social media manager did as part of a 2011 photo album. While she is ultimately responsible for the act she didn't know it was being done. Finally I would add that the photo has nothing to do with blacks or race. It is just a Halloween costume. The PC Police need to lighten up.

Why even bother thinking about it, since it is nothing but a
figment of your imagination, nothing to see so lets move along now.

AMEN!!

And anyone who has every watched her cooking show has seen how she interacts with guests of "color" She is most definitely NOT a racist. I truly feel bad for her and the cross she will be forced to bear for the rest of her life. What a shame.

Once you've been caught stepping in the ****, people tend to watch your shoes from there on out just in case.

Her previous situation wasn't as bad as it was made out to be, but she did let some stupid stuff come out of her mouth,,and admitted as much.

Going after her for someone she was with having a costume that could kinda be linked to a racist activity that some other people used to do is a little much though.

If the person were specifically doing it to make fun of Latinos, that would be one thing, but Desi was a major cultural figure.

yea but look at what you considered was his "costume". Their concept of dressing up as Desi was just to paint his face brown, and browner than the actual character.

That's why it is lame. If he got a wig and a suit or drums or whatever it would've been fine.
But apparently the costume consists just of painting face a different color

It's like how they say if the punchline of a joke is that a person is something they already claim to be (like it's funny because he's gay or a transgender) then it's not really a joke; it's just a play on your own bigotry. (see Jamie foxx's Bruce/caitlyn Jenner joke controversy and why that was a lame joke)

Still though, "social media manager" should be eating the brunt of this cause this is a huge mistake.

He didn't just do his face. He is wearing pajamas which Desi did a lot on ILL. I don't see why he needed a wig and instruments to play Desi from ILL. 75%+ of the show took place in their apartment.

It's an obvious agenda to divide Americans against one another. The agenda comes straight from 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. oh, and Al Sharptons office at MSLBGT(NBC)

100% spot on!

Image was from 4-5 years ago....not exactly controllable on her end that far out.

'Cause that's the way the media likes it...!! No life in stories about "cats and dogs" living together in harmony !! Ridiculous I agree, but seemingly true... Look around !!

Jeez, I can't stand all these people who get offended over the stupidest of things.

You know what offends me? People who get offended easily!
