Well, I'm certain that your talking about keeping the shine as long as possible with out scratching/maring the paint or putting in those micro fine surface swirls that are only seen in the right light.
As others have mentioned, let the paint cure for at least a month prior to your first application of what ever product you end up deciding on.
You'll want to use waxes that have no abrasives. Carnuba has some of the best shine qualities but don't seem to last long. But, that lack of longevity only pertains to a DD that sees all of the elements. For a garage queen, Carnuba is probably perfect!
Silicones probably have the longest lasting protection and I'm sure that there are products that contain both silicone/carnuba, IDK!
No abrasive products, only micro fiber towels or softer materials that I am unaware of. Asking those in the "Show Car Feild" is your best bet for getting the correct products for your hard work. Many don't even use water anymore, only those dry type washing solusions so that they never get water down into the grooves, window channels, panels/seams ever again, as to prevent rust from ever starting.
