Long shot, but I'm hoping to find a company who sells factory matched touch-up paint in this style of a pen, which is the absolute best design I have ever used. Never clogs, just a light squeeze and it flows very precisely. This was Mazda OE about 10 years ago when I bought it, and despite no longer owning the black Mazda for which it was purchased I kept it and still use it for touching up gloss black trim and my motorcycle. I would love to find this style color-matched for my current vehicles.

Does Dupli-Color supply any OE paint?

I know the Dupli-Color touch up paint pens have a tip like that, and also a brush, and a third tip that's like an eraser or something.

The Dupli-color style pens are 2nd best that I've used, but still have a tendency to clog and flow by gravity and not pressure.

I had real good luck with-- https://www.automotivetouchup.com/
  • GET 1/2oz Paint (Brush-in-Bottle) And buy micro dabbers ,they allow precise control, alot of times touchup shows up because of too much applied, not an issue with micro dabbers!

Micro Dabbers (Pack of four)

Price: $1.49
These non-absorbent micro dabbers allow pinpoint application as small as 1/8 of a drop of paint.
The dabbers are decent but you can't control quantity as well. If it's a larger chip you also have to keep reloading.

Good luck with it matching. I bought the proper touch up paint for my 2018 Subaru Forester. Did not match worth a crap.

Finally smacked a deer and tore up the front bumper. Body shop tore off a piece to match the paint.
They did a perfect match. Told them to mix extra when they painted the bumper. Now I have touch up paint that actually matches.:)

Not sure about the touch up pens but I do know the touch up one oz bottles only stay good for a few months even in the garage refrigerator. They just don't keep very long.

I'm about to buy a couple of these from Mazda, clean them out and pour in touch up from my other bottles :ROFLMAO: I am just about there, these are that superior in my opinion.

I have had good luck with Dr Colorchip, but it is expensive and not great for larger chips. However, I recently saw a detailer online that used a syringe to apply the touchup paint and it worked great. Planning on giving it a try next time.

What I like about it is that you dont need to top it off with clear coat...It is already mixed in the color... Have had very good luck using the smear method...

I tried that. Drive through car wash took it off like mayonaise. Zero sticking power. Threw it in the trash.
Never ever had that issue....It has worked great for me over many years with many different colors...

Really. Trying to recall, you use alcohol to degrease and prep. Apply the paint then that Diesel like clear solvent curing agent right? Or am I thinking of another touch up kit?
