Anyhow I didn't have any problems at all and it still works as good as before.

Unlike a firearm, the recoil doesn't change just because you are now shooting blanks.

wayne, REST!

And you get to watch TV all weekend, will the wife be waiting on you during your few days of couch time?

Not a chance. With a 4-year old & a 6 week old, rest is not an option, if I'm able to move. I'm holding my 6 week old on my shoulder even as I type this. I've also done dishes this afternoon, picked up after my daughter, etc.

I'm really not in any pain, but I'll try & work the sympathy vote tomorrow.

Depends on who the strangers are....

Just had another cardiac catheterization done. Nothing like having a guy shaving you with three or four other men and women walking around prepping the suite. One is certainly on display. (The stakes are also a lot different).

Reversal is not covered, and, last I heard is $2,500 plus. Wait until the right moment (or, the kids are all at least seven years old; wives tend to initiate divorce when they're all of school age), as you could change your mind if you re-marry.

The hormone level of the Pill is far lower than in decades past.

Most guys I know who are happy with the V have had it done in their mid-thirties or later.

My wife told me that she's getting tired of taking the pill so she wants me to have this done in a couple of years. I am not keen on the idea of anyone working on my boys!

I figure I'll use this as a bargaining chip though. Two years is right around the time I'm looking at trading my C5 Corvette for a C6 Corvette, so I think if I'm going to get something taken away from me I can at least get something given to me.

Patman,

Don't you have National health care up in the Great White North?

You might want to consider just doing the operation yourself. Lots of good DIY sites on the 'Net.

Tell her to get fixed. She's got plumbing too, you know.

You anti-gummint BITOGers might find this little factoid interesting: in Virginia, a man who has never fathered a child must wait 30 days before being allowed to have a vasectomy. (I believe the wait applies to childless women having their tubes tied as well.) The wait is, I suppose, to allow him time to change his mind after his doctor informs him of the possible remorse after the deal is done, yadda yadda. Not making this up! I'm of the opposite opinion: they should be encouraging sterilization through a payment system. In not too many years we'll have far too many people chasing too few resources. Give me $25K and I'll be happy to get cut!

Vasectomy. After this next kid is here, I gotta get one. The wife sez I must or no-no anymore. My dad had it and he had to get admitted due to infected, he sez they looked like grapefruit. I break into a sweat just thinking about it.

Any here have it? Everything go ok? I'm only 26, so I don't know if I should really wait.. This will be my 3rd kid, we only want 3...

My friend did that last month. just 3 days ago, he got his wife pregnant again. Those things are not 100% effective.

This from Jim Harrison, a favorite poet of mine:

The old rancher of seventy-nine years
said while branding and nutting young bulls
with the rank odor of burned hairs and flesh
in the air, the oil-slippery red nuts
plopping into a galvanized bucket,
"This smells just like Guadalcanal."

I'm getting it done shortly. I'll gladly have it done so my wife can stop taking the pill. Her health is much more important than a short term incovenience for me.

Well, he could be effectively snipped, but still has to wait 6-8 weeks for all the swimmers to be flushed out or absorbed.

Your friend didn't follow the directions that came with the vasectomy, which typically includes remaining on other birth control methods until two zero sperm counts are recorded a week apart.

One other things occurred to me. It's possible that she was pregnant BEFORE the vasectomy.

I won't go into the worst case scenarios.

That's nice imagery: one tired, old swimmer dragging himself in with his last breath, doing his job. Oh boy...

Absolutely. Too many people on the planet now.
