The Stig reveal on Top Gear

You have to be a racing geek to appreciate this, but this “reveal” was epic. I remember seeing this when the episode first came out. I was dumbstruck! So sad about Michael’s situation now.

It was a gag. Schumacher was never the Stig.

Ben Collins was the 3rd(?) Stig and had the longest tenure.

I think he’s implying he was just a guest on the show and not the routine Stig, which is what I’d assume as well. I doubt Schumacher is testing cars for a show while making $35 million a year racing.

There were multiple stigs apparently.

Even my wife who knows nothing about cars loved the adventure episodes.

Allegedly, BBC and Top Gear "made" Schumacher The Stig for this one episode because Ferrari would not anyone but him drive the FXX for "testing" on the show. There was also a "Black Stig", dressed in all black, but that one was killed off and replaced by the white suited Stig(s). At one point, there was even speculation, with hype from show producers, that The Stig was then President Barack Obama.
