The local Lowe's Home Improvement stores (two stores) have been out of this particular circular saw for over a month now; it's a SKIL MAG77 Worm Drive. They have one on display that has its cord cut off and is missing a blade. They said they would be willing to sell me the display (since they've been out of stock for so long) for a reasonable offer. A brand new one in the box goes locally for $159.00. How much do you guys think the display would be worth with no cord and no blade?

What's the going rate for the included blade ..and are you going to have to perform surgery to put a cord (with tension relief thingy) on the thing?? How much is your time worth?

Add up your discounts (T&M) and add a brokering fee for making the sale.

a factory cord will cost you $20 and a good blade is $15.
The bosch worm drive is exactly the same saw (bosch/skil are the same company) but with a redesigned guard that works much better.

I think I'm going to heed to your guys' advice and not buy the demo. The one guy at the Clovis store said they have 4 saws on order about a week and a half out. I'm thinking they will probably be sold all in one day when they get here.

I feel like I've got my name on the waiting list for some kind of a limited production exotic sports car.
