My recent dealings with K-Mart brought this old joke to mind.
A lady walks into her local butcher shop, and asks the price for ground beef. $1.79 per pound is the answer. "But Joe's Butcher Shop has it for $1.59," she says.
The butcher asks, "Well, why don't you buy it there?"
"Joe is out of it right now."
"Oh, OK," says the butcher. "When I'm out of it, I sell it for $1.49 a pound."
