Learned from Total quartz and Castrol Edge extended clearance event of 2023 prices vary if the store was a former Carquest and still on antique explores system or AAP EDENS system
Stores with Carquest Explores system and cement floor didn't seem to have the same "deals" as the standard corporate AAP's with checkered flooring

Yup Sunday and I just called one AAP this morning and this M1 is still $27.XX+ tax
I would say "Novemberish" is when it will be time to "back up the truck" or in my case a heavy duty extended cargo van
Any of the basic M1 I just sell to my shop/dealer customers. If its Valvoline full syn, Pennzoil platinum or Castrol Edge I keep that for myself
We should listen to and learn from this poster. He's an oil trader so an expert in this field.

Like we did with the Total, watch for the 50% off all clearance sale.
This clearance could play out to be an interesting game of chicken for oil bargain hunters. With Kirkland oil at $15.xx/5 Qt. jug till the end of this month (assuming you're a member), 50% off the current price of the Mobil One is still only $19.49. Late in the game with the Total oil sell-off you may have seen prices around $12.xx/5 qt. jug and below the Costco "Mendoza Line" but the pickings were slim.
Its very unlikely to reach Total's legendary sales price before it gets bought out by the majority who only see the brand and insta purchase, that's what you get for popularity.
The people who knew what Total was knew about its international roots from ELF, even AAP folks were clueless. Hence the repeated conversations I had with the cashier's who asked "Huh??"
That said i'm still watching this thread ready to vacuum things up before @DFWoilguy does. j/k

LOL Like I have said already >WE ALL< might not even have a chance to grab it under $15 with it being Mobil 1?? Competing with employees and "walk in" customers who drink the "M1 kool aid" 
On other hand, One interesting tibit is 0W-20 and 5W-20 always get left behind in my area(hot climate)!!! ANY clearance 5W-30 SELLS OUT FAST!!!!!!

I’ve never seen that oil at my local stores
Tractor supply, Walmart have clearanced it the last few years
Autozone took it off its shelves last spring but $37.99 is NOT a clearance price
my nearest AutoZone had it in several weights on the shelves but was $27.99 for 5 quarts yesterday when I checked...
...not clearance priced but not bad if this is the oil you want...

In any event, inly 1 jug in my preferred 5W-30 and I can get M1 EP for that at WM

Total BS from that store!! The employee was either ignorant or not trained well???......AAP red tags are ALWAYS clearance prices
Wouldn't hurt to check prices on Monday??

I agree with both of you...but...the price at my closest store did not have the red tags but did have the same sale price and they only had 1-5 quart jug of 5W-30...no more in the back...
I have checked another store but didn't find any Truck and SUV oil from Mobil 1 there...
good luck to those looking...I don't need any oil but I prefer Mobil 1 and I would have picked some up if the price was right...

I was tipped off from a Facebook group. Advance Auto is having a clearance on their Die Hard hand tools. The prices were 25% off the already marked down price. I picked up a few other things as well. Very YMMV on what your local store will have available. RIP to your wallet if you need tools. Good luck.
