Wow, no one was texting while driving!
There was a Top Gear episode where the interviewee knew he was back in India when he saw a truck with two people hanging off the front bumper: one with a bucket to catch the water coming out of the radiator, and the one at the top who would take the bucket and dump it back in.
As Derek would say, that truck just has some weight reduction, that's all. Helps it go up hills better.
