I get why folks like jeep 4.0 motors as this had a related 4.2 used in Cj-7.

Jeep around 2000 made changes to the reliable 4.0 engine and then it was not so reliable. Cracked #331 head issues and cracking piston skirts. The piston skirt could trash the engine if it happened right.

Bought a new 2000 Ford Taurus in November,2000.
Drove it to 275K and sold it to a co-worker, at the time, when I purchased the Accord.
I drove it last month as it turned 300K.
Still has original engine/transmission. Nothing done other than normal wear items. Still runs/drives great.
IMO, still a nicer riding and driving car than the Accord. Just had a lot of miles on it.

I currently still own a '00 4runner with 250k......Still runs like new.
I had an '88 4runner that had about 300k when I sold it, just for a second set of doors.
I have actually never worn out a vehicle that I have acquired with less than 100k on it. I generally keep them, until my circumstances change, and I need something different.

1st car 2000 Civic VP, 320k I drove it from 60k on-wards.

Current highest mileage Vehicle @ 220k

I rebuild all the engines though, I don't ever trust the previous owners.

Back in 85 I bought an 81 Toyota Pick up.

I used the truck daily for 16 years and just over 500k miles.

No major work was done on the truck, other than changing the clutch. It never let me down on the road.

Not knowing any better at the time, I used 20w-50 Oil exclusivly.

I gave the truck away when rust was making it too ugly.
I used to see it on the road for 'years' after that.

My scout had 492k on it when its original engine blew up.i put a used engine in it and drove it another 360k.by now the body was completly worn out.

That engine went into a friends scout and is still running.

Our shop truck went over 400k last year.i think its around 410k now.all original engine, trans and axle

95 Jeep grand cherokee, 4.0. ~520K (approximately since the speedometer quit at 200K but the overhead computer trip count still works just fine). Transmission rebuilt at 79K (Added a large transmission cooler at that time), alternator once, exhaust manifold gasket once, and that's pretty much it. The rust is slowly taking it however. One continual problem has been the rear main seal, leaks about a quart every 2K, has since around 100K.

1983 SAAB 900T 5spd.

Bought it new after landing my first engineering job. I soon discovered I owned a 'cult' car when fellow SAABers began flashing their lights at me in the daytime. I started using synthetic oil around 110,000 mi. and never looked back. The original non-water-jacket turbo lasted until 205,000 mi. Made lots of great trips and recall lots of good memories. Drove all the way to Vancouver BC...via Winnipeg, Calgary, Banff. Then down through Wash., Or., Nevada, Utah, Colo., NM, and back to Tx. About 7,600mi. Lots of fun on that one!

Sold it after about 15yrs with 256,000 mi. on the odo., after I bought the V70 sled. I've now had it for 17yrs and 208,000 mi. It's been to NH and back and to Colo. several times, but not to Vancouver!

As you can tell, I like Swedish Steel. Only two cars since 1983!

Have 201k miles on my Camry. Bought it 3 months and 6,500 miles ago.

My goal is at least 300k miles out of it.

My first '88 528e, the Borman 6 was purchased 7/96 with 149.5 K miles. I drove it for 12 yrs and added another 200 K miles. Furthest I got into the engine was fuel injectors (used). I maintained the car in my driveway to a level that it always made it home. Iliked the model so much that I drove 528es exclusively for 18 yrs

My Aunt gave me her first Toyota Camry with the 2.0L 5spd manual couple years back. It had 257,000 miles plus on it when received. I drove it back & forth to work for a year and sold it with 262,000 plus miles and the motor still purred. Dont get me wrong, it was no speed demon but super reliable.

I had a 1984 Buick Skyhawk (2.0 OVH pushrod engine, 4 speed manual transmission) that had about 155K miles on it. Ran as good as new when I sold it, but was rusty with 10 years of WV winters. Work trucks (1999 Kenworth with Series 60 Detroit) with over 1,000,000 miles. It was on its second engine, but original Super 10 trans and rears.

My 89 thunderbird had 209k on the clock when I stopped driving it. Still ran great. Made it 160k before the original head gaskets went ... Which was a pretty good run for the old 3.8v6

My 94 escort lx hatchback had about 220k on the clock when I parked it. Still ran good and didn't use any measureable oil in a 5k oci. Used to run 12-15k ocis (3 mo. Regardless of miles) on castrol syntec back when my daily commute was 120mi/day round trip.

The wife's 97cavilier is sitting with about 210k on the clock. Need to figure out why it is overheating though.

Still got all three parked somewhere on the place. Need to figure out what to do with cars that still rin but aren't worth a dime.

Our daily drivers are both in the 140k range, with many more to go I hope. 2002 Subaru outback sedan H6 and 2006 expedition 5.4.

210,000 on the Yukon. Currently the highest ever owned a vehicle and planning for much more. It is my DD (about 50 miles r/t).

There were two. A 1991 4.3 TBI blazer that I drove to 270,000 and an 01 Grand Prix GTP that I drove to 280,000.

My 2001 Ford Ranger with the 3.0 Vulcan V6. Im about to hit 136k miles in the next few days. Also the first truck Ive owned that I've put so many miles on in such a short period of time, its fun to drive. I bought it 2 months ago with 132k and I've already put on almost 4k miles. In my '06 Cummins, it would take me 7-8 months to put that kind of mileage, its a garage queen.

My old 96 caravan had 270k KM when I bought it. Sold it at 370k KM. I had it for 4.5 years and it did pretty good for a $800 vehicle. Unfortunately its age was starting to really show.
