The furthest you've driven

My home in Colorado Springs - woke up at 4 am, drove to Shamrock, TX to go storm chasing, ended up getting caught in flooding in Woodward, OK, had to backtrack all the way back to I-40 and back to Colorado Springs. Rolled into my driveway at 7 am the next day. 27 hours of non-stop, balls to the wall driving. I witnessed one of the most picturesque tornadic supercell thunderstorms I've ever seen in the TX panhandle though so it was well worth it.

I think my limit was about 900 miles. I mixed up packages of nuke meds being delivered to two hospitals. My first stop ..and my furthest. My nightly run was about 350 miles anyway. After that, I figured on a long weekend I could do some Florida shore resort instead of Wildwood, NJ.

August 1975: Houston to St. Louis, 900+ miles, 20 hours, on a 1975 Yamaha RD250. Was going to stop halfway in Little Rock. Got a bee in my bonnet to keep rolling. I remember from my last gas stop to arriving home at 4 AM. I don't remember the miles from that last stop to the prior stop. Scary; I was cruising 70 per, at about 2:30 AM, on autopilot, on a motorcycle. Kids, don't try this at home.

My last long drive was from green river, Utah to Minneapolis, MN left at six thirty am and got home at two am, just stopped for gas and food a little over 1200 miles

I used to work all day then take off for Moses Lake, Wa from Minneapolis, MN drive 26 hours and 1500 miles with no sleep, but i was young and foolish then

I drove from arizona to sacramento one day for 14 hours straight at least 1000k miles, starting at 12 am, I almost died, I suffered miserably, only thing keeping me going were dr. pepper, cofee, and I smoked probably 2 packs during that trip.

Up 32 hours straight from Florida to NY. This is taking into account being up in the early morning, spending the day at the space center, then coca beach then heading home, yeah it FELT great to finally hit the pillow that's for sure!
Oh BTW almost hit a armadillo in Georgia at night, got some "jolt" coffee in Georgia and in Maryland, very eye opening stuff to say the least.

Most I 've done was 14.5hrs straight(other than peee breaks) in a winter snowstorm, doing avg. 50kms/hr, sometimes can do up to 90kms/hr just to make it back to school which is 1000kms away from home town.

Was doing tire chains at certain stretches of highway because of ice.

Auto - Chicago suburbs to Hilton Head, SC in 16 hours.... only stopped for gas and food.

Motorcycle - Chicago suburbs to Asheville, NC in 11 hours.... only stopped for food and gas.

Back in the early 70's I use to drive from Colorado Springs to Dallas every weekend just to see my girlfriend and now ex-wife.

Since moving to Wausau I have made many non-stop trips from Wausau to Dallas.

The farthest I have driven nonstop besides for gas and food etc is about 1200 mi. Johnny just curious how far is Dallas from Wausu. I'm guessing at 1200 mi? I use to live in Dallas for awhile.

OK I was thinking my 1200 guess might've been low, but I guess it's more or less straight south from there. 1200 mi is about as far as I would ever care to try to drive one way.

Just take Hwy 29 west to I-94 to Minneapolis, then straight south on I-35 to Dallas. It's been a few years since I've done it. My wife and my bladder won't allow trips like that anymore. We now stop at a friends house in Kansas City on the way down and back.

I always feel like I'm going "home" when I get on the I-35 past OKC. That's the way you do it, stop half way at an friend's instead of a hotel. Dallas is a little under 1000 mi from where I am now. Seems like for me once a trip starts getting much over 800-900 mi it's just too much driving.

From Indianapolis to Albuquerque--22 hours--by myself.. Was in 1995. Twin daughters were graduating from UNM, and I was giving them our 1986 Ford Escort wagon / 2-liter / 4 speed. Took my own food. Every stop for gas was a rush to the restroom, buy 2 large coffees, gas-up, and hit the road. Had the radio turned up very, very loud.

Don't tell me where you used to drive. If I find out I was on the road at the same time you were, I'll have a retroactive panic attack.
