American cars were pretty good until the early 70's. Than for the next 30 years they just cranked out [censored].

Was this article for real? "Quality" from American manufacturers in the '80s? There wasn't any quality from them in the '90s lol (except for trucks.)

In an episode of The Simpsons (one of the more recent seasons) there is a part where Abe Simpson (grandpa) says something like "the only mistake our generation made was making your generation," referring to Homer's generation (baby boomers). How true that is.

Gotta' take exception to that...I have an 80 year old car, American made, with original parts...most of its original paint and interior...built with SAE fine-thread bolts, careful machining, attention to detail...a true example of craftsmanship!

How about features like: roller cam, automatic chassis lubrication, cockpit adjustable suspension, cruise control, steering wheel-mounted controls...designed and built 80 years ago...
