Do you think if we got enough members together, we could buy out GM at its current share price? Think of the possibilities. We could get them to put a drain plug on all their automatic transmissions, and we could tell them where to put the oil filter, so it's easy to change. Maybe we could afford to buy just one division. If so, which would it be?

yeah, but then you would have to pay the UAW 95% of their wages to stay home while they pop their viagra pills.

Yeah, and then when we run low on cashflow, we can hop in our own personalized private jet and go ask the government for more money. hahaha, hehehe

Good plan.

Interestingly, my gm has a drain plug on the AT and the oil filter's location makes it extraordinarily easy to change.

That's not to say there isn't any room for improvement elsewhere!

No way man ..1980 on Chevy Nova. Maybe they can find the oddball couple that they used in the commercial "The old nova is dead". This was designed with lots of thought put into it.

how much thought does it take to rebadge an isuzu or toyota anyway?

Funnily, Nissan manufactured a Pulsar, sold down here.

Holden Rebadged it the Astra.

A car mag debadged them both, put them side by side in a mall, and asked passersby to identify who made which.

The majority picked the silver one, declared it was so much better finished, which was proof that Holden (GM) made the better car...IIRC, they picked the Nissan, but the silver paint made the car look a bit more classy than a grungy green.

Later, Nissan sold their pulsar with a J-Car engine in it (some local percentage requirement), and Gm sold it as an Astra. At the same time, Ford sold a Nissan (Pintara) family car, and also a Patrol as the Maverick...their parts book cross referenced Nissan's.

I know how to save GM... Take the whole Toyota Line-up, rip off the bodies like they did with the Matrix/Vibe and put on all GM style bodies and sell 'em as GM with Toyota Quality at a GM price... There you have it folks... GM's Problems Solved!

What would you do after you sold about 5,000 of them and met total demand for them?

Too bad toyota quality is being surpassed by GM quality on many models... The MIL's camry is garbage.

That's actually not a bad idea. Let GM outsource production and concentrate on brand management and R&D. I don't think this concept has been tried before but what the heck, they are going down in flames anyway.
