In the early to mid '70s, the minimum wage was around $1.65/hr ...... for people who didn't get tips. I don't remember what my cash wages were as a waitress at that time, but I know it was nowhere near the $1.65 that busboys made. I'll bet those waitresses who didn't share the tips were making less then a dollar an hour .... and putting up with surly customers and picky eaters and poor tippers on vacation.quote:
