TGI Fridays files for bankruptcy

If every restaurant in the USA went out of business in the next year, business would prosper at all the grocery, fruit and meat markets.

We would all continue to live just fine and think of all the tips money we would save. The only unhappys would be unemployed restaurant workers, who would need to pick other means of job source & income.

Well, I would be a bit unhappy also, for I am not a good cook. But the wife sure is and I hope she outlives me.
On a plus-side, the best, longest marriages are those that find time for each other -like an entire family at your own home's dinner table every evening. Fond memories can even be-had at the kitchen counter washing and drying the dishes afterwards.
Wait - maybe I said too much old-school there. Automatic dishwashers to the rescue then.

Sounds like you don’t ever travel and also live in a place people don’t ever want to visit.

Not surprised.

The last 2 times I went there the food was just OK….. microwave quality food and overhead music was very loud.

Lots of restaurants affected by Covid shutdown and never regained the sales figures.

TGI Fridays frozen food at grocery store tastes exactly like the food served at TGI Fridays restaurant.

I tend agree with most of your old school thoughts, but I have zero fond memories of doing dishes at family gatherings.

Traveling for work, I have eaten at Texas Roadhouse unmentionable times.

My rule of thumb- always order the steak well-done at Texas Roadhouse, regardless on how one likes their steak cooked. Well done likely comes out medium. And never ever order a steak with the bone in at Texas Roadhouse. Bone in steaks at Texas Roadhouse often come out raw for about half the steak.
Daughter's birthday and she wanted Texas Roadhouse today. I can say with no hesitation they served me the worst prime rib I have ever tried to eat - I came out with tennis elbow trying to cut the thing - and the waiter did not bother to ask why 80% was still on the plate ...

The last couple of posts reminded me of this picture - looks like they covered all the cooking options.

Longhorn Steakhouse probably has the best chain restaurant steak I’ve ever had. My Texas Roadhouse experience was the same.

Going to a restaurant like Texas Road House for Prime Rib is like going to Jiffy Lube to get your oil change. You will not have your expectations fulfilled.

The Prime Rib is almost certainly precooked and reheated.
