There is no way I'm driving across the country in any gas powered vehicle with 300 to 400 thousand. Miles on the odometer. Have you been to the middle of no where Nevada, Wyoming, or Montana? Oh- no cell phone reception BTW.
My 93 Toyota 4wd PU with the mighty K24 and AT was made right here in Fremont at NUMMU (ex GM and now Tesla).
I gave it to my BIL when I got the Tundra maybe 15 years ago. The odo quit at about 350K; it was in service for years afterwards.
It was totaled; he put aftermarket fenders and such. My understanding is, it is in service by a small yard company. Gotta have 500K.
Rightfully so. High mileage isn't bad especially if it's been highway and properly maintained. Any car can break down at anytime. I'm at 200,000 right now and not bothered one bit.
