Terminator Two - Judgement Day

Stopped by this place along my way to work once in a while. They got the part about those robots being build down the road at Tesla, just a few blocks away. Who knows, maybe they would really revolt from a few blocks away in 2029.

Loved the movie as a kid. A fine example of the sequel being a better movie IMO.
With the utmost respect, no, no way, and never, in that order.

The first Terminator movie is light years ahead of the second one. The second one isn't bad by any means, but it can't touch the first one.

Now if you want to argue Aliens over Alien, another James Cameron work, I'll listen (but I think they're on the same level and very different even though the subject is the same). But I can't get behind this thought on T2 at all.

When I was younger the independent stereo shop I would go for car audio had some nice home theater stuff also. I dodn't recall if original Terminator or T2 and Top Gun made the whole place shake from some pretty small quality subs and the surround was awesome. They had a separate room all set up with the switches so you could pick like 10 different fronts, rears, subs and of course amps.

The graphics is that movie was so ahead of its time. Still decent by today’s standards. Which is wild concerning that was 30 years ago.
Yeah, the digital world has done some interesting things in the last 5 years - if you really pay close attention …

No way is Aliens better than Alien. Boo.

A very good sequel, but no.

Concur. The Terminator is probably my favorite movie and has a realism/grittiness that T2 lacked. And T2 is really excellent don't get me wrong. But it's quite clearly more of a big budget blockbuster with the more involved special effects, big set pieces, and shoehorned in humor. The first one is more original and surprising.

My favorite line in the first one is when Reese is being interrogated by the cops and they're asking him how the time machine worked and he says "I don't know, I didn't build the flipping thing!" I use that all the time (sans the actual word) when my kids ask why something is a certain way and I don't have a good answer 😁
