Maybe someone can help. I changed the fuel filter on my 2003 Taurus. It now leaks. I can't find a diagram showing the o-ring set up. the o-ring fell out when I pulled off the connector. No new o-rings in the new (Wix) box. Am I supposed to put the o-ring in the connector? Any help is most appreciated.

There are usually two o-rings inside the plastic quick connect, so yes, the o-ring does go in the connector.

Many thanks.
The plastic spacer fell into my catch pan. So now I have the o-ring and spacer out of the connector. Any ideas on how to correctly insert these into the connector? Purchase new o-rings?

Thanks.

Was the filter corroded? Wonder why it came out. I would use something to push it into the connector, but don't push it too far or you won't be able to get it out. I've done the filter on two taurus vehicles for years and never had one come out.

Just look at the other connector to see how it goes back.
The oring should be OK. If you are worried inspect it carefully before you put it back in for nicks, and cuts.

The spacer should be easy enough to reinsert and for the o-ring, use a pocket screwdriver to maneuver it into place. Before you click it back onto the filter, use some spray lube to clean any grit that may have gotten on the o-ring and also to lube them so as to prevent damage.

Well I tried but I could not get the fitting to seal, Could hardly see it as Ford did not design much slack in the line.
Dropped the tank. Which was not too difficult. Bought a new line from Ford $80. Yes only around a foot long and it was $80. The line attaches to the pump on the top of the tank. New line new filter no leaks.
