I'm getting ready to change my 2001 Silverado's fuel filter for the third time. This is a replaceable filter. Fuel lines screw into both ends, and on the second change, I noticed there were o-rings on the lines. They looked pretty bad but didn't leak. I made a note to change them next time.

The problem is, fuel filters don't include the o-rings, at least NAPA Golds and the Chevy dealership OE filters. Online parts catalogs from the GM part sites don't mention them either. I did find a GM truck forum where somebody said he used the 3/8 o-rings from this NAPA kit:

I also searched by name and found these Dorman pieces:

https://www.dormanproducts.com/p-30428-800-013.aspx

The Dorman set is about half the cost of the NAPA set at Rockauto, where I plan to get the filter. Advance charges about the same for Dorman as NAPA does for theirs.

So, here are my questions:
First, does anybody know if these 3/8 o-rings will work? And if not, can you point me toward the correct part number?

Second, considering Dorman's hit-or-miss reputation, would you advise spending four extra dollars at NAPA? It wouldn't be surprising if they're made by the same company, but I haven't seen either package.

Thanks for any help you can offer. Considering how many of these trucks are on the road, I'm surprised I haven't noticed this topic on BITOG before.

Delco part number for the correct o-rings is 217-452. GM long number is 22514722. List for 1.67 each. The dorman number does interchange to the OE number but I prefer the OE o-rings. I buy them 20 at a shot

Thanks! I tried searching the two longer numbers, but never found the proper diagram on the GMPartsdirect.
