Chevy fuel pressure regulator info needed

Was replacing the fuel pressure regulator on my 2000 4.8L V8. The new one wouldn't push in so I pulled the o ring out and I thought it dropped into the fuel rail. I pulled the fuel rail off looking for it and cannot find it, but I found an o ring in the groove where the o ring that I thought fell into the rail came from. Are there back to back o rings that seal the fuel pressure regulator? This is the small o ring in the center, not the outer o ring around the housing.

I reinstalled it all with just the one o-ring. Works fine, no problems, runs good. And gas mileage went way up!! The previous fuel pressure regulator was leaking fuel into the vacuum port into the manifold.

Where abouts is that fuel pressure regulator? I have a 2004 Silverado with the 4.8 an I am curious.

Yeah just one oring used from what I've seen. Sometimes they stick inside and sometimes they come flying out faster tha you can see 'em.

Later models don't have a pressure regulator at the engine.
