Maybe try the dark roast? I prefer it to the regular coffee, but I'm not a coffee nut, I only draw the line at the watered down convenience store stuff, but even that will do if I need some on a long drive.

I checked the Target here once to see their oil selection and pricing. I believe I reported back here that it wasn't spectacular, and it was expensive. I also noticed in the rest of the store what most of the media reports have stated. The shelves were poorly stocked and the prices were high. If I want to shop at such a place, we already have Sears.

Cumberland Farms coffee is actually very good. The 7-11 dark roast isn't as good, but hardly BAD.

My wife works for Target. We shop there every Saturday for our weekly shopping since we get 15% off and the prices beat Wal-Mart and our local grocery by a large margin.

The last Target CEO was a buffoon and has been replaced. They could have done Target in Canada with a slow roll out and do it right, but they went big and it cost them big. Since I own Target stock, I am happy that they are pulling out of Canada. Hopefully they can focus on US stores as there were a lot of stores scheduled for remodel here in the US but that was pushed back with the Canada store opening.

It is a bit of mystery why they didn't just run the stores the same as the US ones? Many Canadian young women seemed to love the US targets near the border, but I guess the cross border shoppers aren't a representative demographic of the average shopper here.
We have Walmart, Loblaws, Sears, Canadian Tire, Home Hardware, Giant Tiger, which all overlap a bit in products and prices and carry mostly all China junk too. I don't really see the need for another one here.

I don't really drink commercial coffee - but the Tim Horton's coffee tasted like I was drinking chemicals. With and without any sort of cream and sugar. It was really strange. Dunkin Coffee doesn't have a chemical taste, but even when I get it black and withOUT cream and sugar, it seems like there is boatloads of sugar still.

Agree that the previous CEO was a problem, and glad they seem to have replaced him with one that has some stones to make a tough decision.

The expansion could have gone so much better with some different decisions.

As far as those of you who went looking for oil at Target, its pretty clear that you hadn't spent much time in a Target in the States. They have been "out" of the automotive game for going on 15+ years. They essentially have a little more than a supermarket would carry, and priced accordingly. I don't fault them for that - it isn't their bread and butter. Different strokes for different folks...

I remember when a Target opened in my home town about 10-11 years ago. I went there to see what the "automotive" section looked like, and all I saw were gaudy seat covers, gaudy steering wheel covers, and some plastic organizers and stuff. Not a drop of motor oil to be seen. Forget about filters. So I can't say a Target store has impressed me yet either. I could count the number of times I have shopped at one over the last decade on one hand. I guess the slightly cleaner and calmer environment is an advantage over Wal-Mart, but the selection and prices don't really have anything to offer.

As unpleasant as Wal-Mart is, it is at least useful for some things.

My g/f wouldn't do that, so its not a problem for me lol. She won't shop at Chinamart either.

TD does the card processing, not issues the Target card

It's really no secret that Target gears itself to catering to women overall it always has been that way since they have become a major chain store.
