talk me out of BFG Ko's Need a winter rated offroader Must aggressive one I can find

If you look at the design of many tires after the original BFG AT, many have tried to copy it. Road noise is minimal, good road manners, etc.

I bought a set of BFG KM2's several years ago for my 2012 JK Jeep Wrangler. They've been great over the years in Mud and Heavy Snow. Now they have the KM3's which I'll most likely put on my 2023 Bronco.
Good Luck with your decision!

I'm waiting for the KO3s. 315 70 17 come out in August. Not sure about 37s. They are releasing them in phases. KO2s were great, I got them when they just got released almost 10 years ago.
Just looked again - only have 128 - that’s like F rated?
Might wind up with 315 KO2’s before going that stiff on a Wrangler.
It’s my DD - sometimes drive 6 hours in a day …

Looked at these today - just could not get past the F rating on a light Jeep. While I was waiting - they put KO3’s on a 2500 Ram - guess LT is still top of the list … got the 315 in a C rated KO2 …

I might get another set of KO2s. BFG is slow on their release and there are some nice deals on KO2s. I've been happy with them for what I use them for.
Just back from the coast - met with friends who just outfitted a TacoTRD-Pro … my 315’s were great on the highway and in the deep sand - left the 38 psi alone … They ride and track well …

i wouldn’t put KO2’s on anything. i don’t know why people like them so much. noisy, shread in rock and melt under a heavy truck.
I have loved them on my Jeeps (currently have them on my Wrangler) but I wouldn't put them on any heavy truck or SUV. They do tend to wear out fast on heavy trucks. Mine aren't noisy and I haven't rotated them, but again it's a very light vehicle compared to a truck.

Based on the size/shape and E or F rating - they target LT’s with the new KO3. KO2 is still a Jeep tire IMO …

I am looking forward to ditching the E rated 35x12.5r17 I currently have. 315s should ride better even if a tiny bit smaller, I can live with that. It's only a F150, no need for an E rated tire.

Yep, and won’t get pitched around by uneven pavement during endless road construction projects …
They still have the strong sidewalls …
F would be bricks 🧱

I've run the following in snow country on personal and police truck:
KO2
Bridgestone Revo2
Toyo AT2
Toyo AT3
Duratracs
Goodyear Adventurer
Goodyear Workhorse

For winter use the Duratracs take the cake and are very well mannered on road. They will punish you after 30,000 miles if they have uneven wear. Love the Toyos, my personal choice. The Adventurers are dangerous after 6/32 in the slush but good up until then. The Workhorse are very good, better than the Adventurers. Good luck.

They are a good tire.

I've ran those and Duratracs. No complaints from either, but the treaded sidewall on the duratrac can be a turn off for many.

I think they sell a lot of them to truck owners who want the look, even though everyone I know with a large truck that has them says they don't last too long. I guess they are emphasizing the "L" in Light Truck when they market them.. I got 50k out of the set on my last Jeep, and I was not kind to the tires. The KO2's on my current Jeep only have 10-12k on them.

I like Duratracs too, but same thing, seems people with larger trucks will wear through them quickly. I know someone who had a set on an F250 Powerstroke and they wore down quite quickly.

They put KO3 (F) on a 2500 Ram ahead of me … two managers tried to push me to those …
Duratracs are popular with Farm & Ranch folks here - good enough in mud - good enough on the road …

While I certainly was not kind to them and I never once rotated them, my KO2’s wore to about 1/32” in the rear in about 24,000 miles and the fronts were half worn. They did look good though!
