I hardly even went anywhere today and my god were people driving like nuts. I know people are tired of being at work and want to get home early, but man people need to chill out and relax. We don't need any car wrecks for thanksgiving.
 
Its going to be like that now until after jan 1. Old effers that shouldnt be on the road running around geting presents for 26 grandkids.

Wierdos running from store to store trying to save a few pennies on motor oil.
 
I had an old bat in a cr@ppy Sable cut over into my lane this morning. The POS had one of those clothes hanging rods that extend from one coat hook to the other- and it was loaded down with clothes. When I passe her she was stuffing her face and peering down the road through the steering wheel.

Well, I drive a POS, so maybe I'm biased, but here I find the worst drivers (at the head of a VERY crowded field) tend to have the biggest, flashiest cars.

(This is excluding commercial drivers, who should just be beaten monthly with baseball bats as a condition of holding the licence)

Typical example last weekend : Porsche Cayenne overtakes me at speed into the oncoming lane on a completely blind summit, and sho nuf, I was level with him at the next traffic light..and the next...and the next.

Could be my car brings them out though. Maybe he'd have tolerated being behind a Ferrari better.

It's traffic. If you choose to live in a densely populated city, then it's something you should man up and deal with rather than complain and whine about. If it bothers you that much then consider moving to an area that doesn't have traffic issues.

Your car sig tells us a lot too unless in this holiday season we choose no to judge people by the cars they drive.

You are totally unaware of the situations someone might be dealing with.

One must take ownership of his or her own environment and beware of your surroundings. The days of riding around in a Walt Disney world are over....example--police are being targeted, road ragging is now a right when you get mad behind the wheel, people protesting for all kinds of reason, you cant tell which bathroom to use in public/which one do you choose? How long has it been since you saw kids riding their bikes on a Saturday morning to the barber shop? I have not seen that in years. Mayberry USA died along time ago. Manners,,lol,,,what is manners? Did I mention gun permits are huge,,never even thought of that in the 50s or 60s,,, Rant over, now where did I put that Fram oil filter.......its important you know.

I take a deep breath and take the back roads. No way I'm dealing with people who are doing 10 under the SL, that just increases traffic and it's getting worse. I cringe at the thought of ALL THOSE BABY BOOMERS becoming old and then the main roads will be really slowed down.

Ick, I prefer the highway. Backroads have you speed up, slow down, traffic lights, wildlife and inattentive drivers. People driving 5 or 10 under only to speed up at the rare passing zone. Roads with tight s turns and poor visibility. Driving through every 2 bit town... no thanks.

It's a nice change of scenery but when you need to go 200 miles the shortest in time route wins.

I disagree for the most part, atleast now. I've spent almost 2 years driving highways for my job and it will wear your thin, I don't know how people do it for days and years on end. This week I had to go from West Chester, PA to north of East Brunswick, NJ to pick up a gearbox, which naturally you had to go on the NJ Turnpike. 12 traveling lanes and people were just nuts! The closer you got to the 80 split, it was even crazier! I know people do that every day, I just couldn't. Ironically one time we had to go from our shop in South Central PA to Buffalo, NY, the quickest way was all back roads. Me and my boss thoroughly enjoyed the ride, as it was a departure from our normal interstate/toll road driving.
 
Supposed to be a late supper at inlaws tonight but with near zero visibility, some snow and rain and temps dropping after dark my thoughts is to stay home instead of white knuckle drive of 175 miles one way
 
I don't drive over the holidays and do all my shopping online, as I hate the stores. As far a the complaining about all the old folks, just remember, you will be one of them one day. But in reality is is normal for the younger to B about the older and the older B about the younger.

Yawn. The driver was an inept fool regardless of what she was attempting to drive- it just happened to be a POS. And as for my sig, judge away; I'm sure my vehicular choices fail to meet your lofty standards.

I can relate, Im a baby boomer myself, lol...
 
Don't forget that one person on a cell phone can slow down a mile of highway by 5 mph. And, there are a lot more than one person messing with a phone per mile. Driving is no longer an activity worthy of one's full attention, judging by actions.
