Tactical Solutions 10/22 anyone?

I have an older 10/22 in stainless. Before Ruger started building them with all the plastic parts. It's darn good. I removed the fogged up Simmons scope and installed a basic Vortex scope on it this year. The gun much prefers Velocitors. It is both accurate and reliable with those. I suppose one could spend a lot on a 22 for an increase in accuracy and reliability.

While the rifle you are looking at is great, If you have a 10/22 you can build one much cheaper. I might have $500 into this one. Granted it's a heavy barrel build.

That was the nature of my question in my above comment. You can build from a stock 10\22 a tack driver for much less than the price of the gun the OP is asking about.

I've built a couple 10/22's with off the shelf parts and I just want to try something new.

My **true** tack driver is my Mark II trainer. Keeps me on my toes during the off season ;)

I see. Then you are well informed on these things and your knowledge base is above my suggestion. I have not experience with the rifle you mention.

I do like the integral picatinny.

Good luck.

If you’re looking for a high end 10/22 style rifle you can’t go wrong with a Tacsol. I would have a good look at volquartsen also.

That said, if it’s a tac driver your after and don’t mind a bolt action there are better options: Anschutz for smaller rifles of a Vudoo for a full sized rem700 style action.

Vudoo is on my list too. Definitely next level stuff!

Well, I decided to buy it buy it after looking at a few others. I'll post up a couple pics after I pick it up in a few days.
Old post I know I'm addressing.........
How do you like your new Tacsol X-ring rifle? I have had mine for about four years and like it very much.

It looks great, unfortunately I've yet to dial the scope in and just sitting in the safe. I'm having to modify my range due to the idiot neighbor that thought it would be wise to build his house directly behind my backdrop. Hopefully, I'll get a loader in there in the next few weeks to do the heavy work to get some real progress done. Then its on...

Just a thought on 22 optics. Since most 22's are used at closer distances than center fire rifles, it is worth considering a scope that has a side focus.

Reason being that the need for 'focus ability' is massively increased at close to medium ranges. At long distances, the scope can simply focus at infinity.

What I've found is that at 50 feet, I can't focus the reticle and the target simultaneously. Unless the scope has a side focus feature (parallax adjustment)
