Just got finished setting up my T-Mobile wireless internet. Just plugged it in after I just sat it anywhere. BooM! Have seen just over 315 mbps down and 60 mpbs upload. Talk about painless. So nice when everything goes right. I didn't get the basic, but the upgraded speed and extra security modem. This is saving me $250 a year. Have loved Mint Mobile and now getting some benefits of the T-Mobile merger. $60 a month total for both.

I've been on TM 5G for almost 2 years.
Got in early in my market; $50 per month.
My signal is 5 bars with external antenna.

My speeds; just checked as I post this ...

I used to have Uverse. To say it sucked is being polite. Slow and unreliable. And was $70/mo.

T-Mobile home internet (and maybe Verizon internet) is wonderful if your in a strong signal area (close to a tower or possibly a repeater of some sort) You need to be very close though.

With that said, if you're fed up with your provider, you have nothing to lose by trying it out. Keep your current provider and try out TMobile, if it works like @Herman and @dnewton3. Make sure to try it all times of the day and evenings, If it works it's a grand slam however if its "iffy" most likely you will not be happy over the long term.

Years back we tried T-Mobile, first day we were impressed, second day we started having issues. T-Mobile was great in trying to analyze it, techs contacted us and suggested positions in our house, evenings would slow to a crawl and daytime hit or miss. (it was kind of new then but still the Tower Unit) Ultimately had to return but was worth the effort to try. Just a little too far from the tower. That is when I learned how quickly cell signals diminish. When I went near that tower with my iPhone and Safari I got 700+ Mbps and never less than 500. Also times of day might matter so try all times of day.

Its worth the effort for sure if your paying too much for internet. There are a lot of happy people with it. I know some in my community, however our community is huge and they are about a mile or two closer to the tower that is about 3 miles away from our home. In our area of the community we are not even offered it from T-Mobile and while our cell signal is very reliable we are only at 1 to max 2 bars on our iPhone. Good news is our fiber is reasonable at a monthly payment of $57
In our last house it was not reasonable and why we tried TMobile.

There is an option for an external antenna?
Something you purchased or supplied by TM?

I went through a couple of modem/router boxes in the first year. They upgraded me to a new unit which had four external antenna ports in the back. I have a 4-channel 5G antenna (from Amazon). I get 5 bars out of 5 possible. I am about 2.5 miles away from the tower, but I have the advantage of being way up on a hill and direct line-of-sight to the tower.

This is the one I now have: TMO-G4AR

Check out the YT "nater tater" channel; he has excellent info. I also got my external antenna based on his recommendations.

T-Mobile took over mint mobile? THE Ryan Reynolds company that promises low prices and no gimmicks? I thought that the T-mobile service would be faster than 315mbps download speeds.

That happened a while back. There has been no funny business since the buyout. I am buying another year next month. The good deal on the internet is a benefit for me as compared to my old service. Why would I need more than 315 Mbps to chat on BITOG. I think that is pretty good for wireless OTA

Distance and objects in LOS from the antenna is critical. I've seen these go past 500mbps when conditions are ideal.

A mvno installed once by my mom's house in super rural Oklahoma, they finally have usable internet there faster than DSL speeds. Especially if I have to hop on some work if I'm over there.

I got lucky. My town installed gigabit eithernet four years ago and the early for life lock in price is $49.99 per month.

That service is between hot garbage and amazing depending where you are located vs the nearest tower. Glad yours works well.
Entering day three and a slight repositioning of the box, my VERY consistent average is between 200-250 Mbps.
I am very happy and really impressed that it has been glitch free. AT&T tried to get me to stay with dollars off. Informed the nice lady that I gave them a chance 3 months ago. No more sales attempts and wrapped up the discontinuation of service promptly and politely. Goodbye AT&T after 51 years of continuous patronage. Grew tired of the ever increasing panic pricing decisions. Also not a fan of the company's politics.

I have been hearing a lot of hypes on 5G back then and finally it seems like the major use case is here: to give cable internet a run for its money and little by little breaking the monopoly.

Got mine when it first came out.
Endured issues with speed the first year but I hung in and it's been trouble free and an awesome deal.

Constant upgrades too

I looked it up and I signed on
9/8/21...... still thrilled with it
