My 2001 Lexus RX 300 transmission slips from first to second on the Toyota fluid.I now use the castrol multi Import vehicle formula, and so far I have better shifts.Never owned a vehicle before that doesn`t like it`s own fluid.

Well,I got it two years ago wit 74,000 miles on it.I noticed the slippage then,so i changed it thinking maybe some one put in the wrong fluid. It was still the same,I then tried the Amsoil and it was really wacked out.It hunted for the right gear, still slipped etc.So then I finally tried the Castrol Multi-vehicle fluid which is type IV approved. So far it has been the best as far as shifting, the shift`s are a little more solid then they were before. And 1st to 2nd is much better.I now have 99,700 miles on it,and still doing well.

I wouldnt trust shift quality as an indicator of ATF performance. If it's slipping using OEM ATF somethings wrong in the box.
