synthetic blend for 2007 Elantra??

Hello,
My Hyundai dealer tells me that Hyundai requires synthetic blend 5W-20
motor oil in all the new Elantras. However, I can not find this
stated in the owner's manual anywhere that synthetic blend is
required! I asked the dealer if they can provide me with their
documentation that states synthetic is required and they tell
me they dont have that information.
What is the truth here? Anyone here familiar with the new Elantras?
Can I use conventional 5W-20 in my 2007 Elantra??

Agreed with above.

Pick up some OEM Hyundai filters (as they're the best for your engine). And remember to document the changes (date and mileage, grade and quarts used) in case you ever have to file a warranty claim.

Whatever you do, do NOT use a Fram filter on your Elantra. Last I knew, the Fram that fits your car is originally intended for a Honda Civic, which has quite different lubrication needs than your Elantra. In the past there were a handful of isolated cases where Elantras had oil starvation problems traced to the Fram filter meant for a Civic that the bean-counters decided could be marketed for an Elantra because it happened to fit.
