I realize that but we actually don't usually have any engine maintenance in the time we use the vehicles anyway. Tires and battery are typically the only things replaced in adition to fluids/filters.. So money spent on oil and filters is the main concern.


Then it truly comes down to $$ & cents. What criteria is used to dump the vehicles? Age/mileage combo. If it's just down to the costs (without the added productivity due to lower hours on maintenance) ..they you just have to elongate the OCI to fit the $$ for synth in ..add enough additional length to satisfy the bean counters.

The best way to play "penny foolish= pound wise" is to KNOW in advance that you can already get the savings without implimenting the program. Our engineer would submit a project for funding and predict XX% increase in output for justification. He already had the xx% in the bank already so the money was for other benefits.

Normally you would run a pilot program on a couple of cars to see how it worked out. Then adopt it dept wide.
