I have normally ram m1 products and mc as im a ford guy, but a while back i fell for marketing and "special" so i decided to give edge a try........loved it!! car ran smoother and better mpgs, since ive never tried syntec, i thought id ask opinions of edge vs syntec?

Just for comparison sake and not saying anything specific about quality of oils listed. These are just examples...
Syntec would equal Mobil 1 / Pennzoil Platinum
Edge would equal Mobil 1 EP / Pennzoil Ultra
Basically a good and better

I too made the switch at the last oil change from Mobil-1 5/30w to Edge 5/30, however, I noticed NO difference. Civic runs the same and MPG is the same or a tad lower (I keep detailed logs including using a scan gauge).

Edge in the US is formulated on the thin end in order to meet energy conserving claims. On the other hand, GC is on the thicker side of 30-weight with a high HT/HS in order to meet long drain VW/MB/BMW specs.
I switched from M1 to Edge in my Corvette. Upon a UOA, lead (which I was worried about) decreased 3 times. Engine was quieter also. Edge is a GOOD oil.

Syntec does not meet GM 4718m, so it can;t be run in Corvettes or many other high performance vehicles.

Right, and to put it simply, Edge in NA doesn't offer a 0W-30 grade of any flavour, be it light, heavy or middling.
