Agreed. It could be. It might not be. And a PQIA VOA won't tell us for sure. Heck, the $20 difference in the U.S. disappears up here. RP is barely priced more than Valvoline Synpower if both are at regular prices.

Incidentally, jk_636, the real issue with the warranty would be the emissions system. RP used to stand behind their Synerlec products, but that's before their SN/GF-5 line came out. If your cat coincidentally failed under warranty while using RP HPS and the dealer were to ask what oil you were using and had a clue what it was, they could make a stink. That would take a pretty good alignment of the stars, as it were, though.

I don't believe that the cat is under warranty anymore. It was 30k bumper to bumper and then 100k power train. I may be able to use it now since I'm over 30k? Surely the cat isn't still under warranty?

Cat is part of emission system and Federal laws requires it to have much longer warranty than bumper to bumper warranty. I think it is 10 years/100k miles warranty for emission system.

Yep, the emissions system warranty is usually lengthy. Nonetheless, if a car isn't sucking back the oil, it's not sucking back the phosphorous.

Only you can decide if you want to venture outside of the OEM recommendations. I did, albeit late in the warranty, on my G37. The taxis went outside of OCI recommendations the second they were put in service. That doesn't mean it's wise for everyone, though.
