Syn oil for a 2000 sonata 2.5 v6

Can I go to a synthetic at 87,000 miles? Although I get free oil changes I,m not sure what their using. I do know last time they threw some B.J.'s oil additive in for free, without asking. I still don't really know what it is or does.I'm hoping a good syn. will clean up the insides, and extend the life of the engine.Can I do it?

I would recommend Valvoline Maxlife, it is semi-synthetic and will clean up your engine over several oci's. It comes in Full Synthetic as well......

Sure you can switch to synthetic oil.
