Does switching brands of oil each OCI keep an engine cleaner due to the different add packs? I've heard some on here say this before..

I don't see why it would. When it comes down to it they all use virtually the same exact additives just a little more here and a little less there.

Some think it actually does harm and caused the additives to counteract each other and strip off anti wear additives but I dont believe that's ever been proven.

If you feel your engine is dirty just shorten the next two oil changes, or if your the type who likes to add stuff to your oil then you can try that.

Are you trying to keep the 2014 Honda clean using Mobil 1 Extended Performance 0w20? I bet if you look into the filler hole on that car, it will look as clean as new. My wife's 1997 has been using Mobil 1 5w30 for the past 5 years and it's got no sludge or varnish under the valve cover.

I would stick with what you are using.

Ran two 3k oci's with Pennzoil conventional on the civic when I got it after I got it. Super nasty, actual thick gunk came out. Running PUP with a TG and much nicer when draining. Run that around 7.5K. I dont know why it removed so much junk but everyone says Pennzoil Conventional is great for cleaning. Maybe that's why. Pleased with the results though. Hopefully it's not a question for your '14 Honda though.

Dont believe all you read here...

I am in the sense of not going into the negative range for my MM, but I let it run to 15%. Lots of idle time though on the CR-V, so not truly concerned with anything engine related.

I've used a different synthetic oil at every change on our 13 Corolla except the 10k and 20k which were free at dealer. No consumption between changes at 10k oci. I did an oil change at something like 3k miles, dealer wrote it up for oil change at 5k instead of just rotation. So it got a couple extra oil changes early on haha
