In short, been using Amsoil for the last 50k miles (15w-40 Marine Diesel Full Syn.) I am wanting to switch due to availablity and TBN being better with the Supreme 9000 5w-40. Are their any problems with this? I feel silly asking this, but I am OCD when it comes to my truck.

Just a question, Byron. Are you challenging the TBN properties of your current oil? I once sought out Delvac 1 SHC Marine since it had a TBN of 16 vs. 12 for regular Delvac 1. It was just to allow me to go 1 full year with confidence (a gas application). I could have made it anyway, but
It was, apparently, only available in bulk ..so I gave up on that idea ..I also figured that 6 months was going to be my interval of choice ..making it a non-issue.

No, not really challenging TBN, I just like that the availability of Schaeffer's seems to be better than Amsoil (my current use) and it just so happens that the #'s for Schaeffer's are a little better. I can drive down the road 17 miles and pick up Schaeffer's whereas Amsoil I have to order and they always seem to take a week or so and then are back ordered on the filter, etc, etc.......I change every 10k no matter what, so intervals aren't really an issue with me.
