Someone posted on a Toyota 4x4 forum that he switched to synthetic after 200K and now he says puffs of white smoke are coming out the tailpipe. Whats happening here?

White smoke is indicative of coolant getting into the combustion chamber, so he probably has a head gasket leak. It's totally unrelated to the switchover.
I'd never switch over a 200k car to synthetic though. After that long, you might as well just stick to dino oil and avoid any potential leaks.
