I was using Mobil 1 5w20 in my 2007 Honda ridgeline for the past 2 years and decided to try castrol gtx magnatec 5w20 just because.... And it really seemed to help my engine, sounds quieter and smoother and stronger? Almost like it's rejuvenated my truck... I have 123,000 miles on it and it's never ran this good? So I put some in my wife's 2007 Honda Odyssey with 134,000 miles on it and same thing happened. I'm really not one to say things about a certain brand but I just really am impressed with this oil so far. Just my 2 cents

Well I'm not going to question your observation about the motors running quieter. My lady's Camry ran much quieter with the Motorcraft 5w30 than the Pennzoil High Mileage or Pennzoil Synthetic blend I ran in it prior. So, it is very likely that a change in oil can have that effect in my opinion. Castrol Magnatec is a fine oil. I have run the gold bottle in my cars with great results. I should give the Magnatec a try soon as well.
I ran it in 5 vehicles and two were new.

My experience with Magnatec has also been very positive, on my third OCI with it now in the KIA have run the 5w30 synblend twice and the 5w20 Full Synthetic once. Not really a fan of any 20 grade but they have all run great, the 5w20 syn worked real well over the cold months.
Only oil I've seen that can get the 3.5 Ecoboost down to the 1 ppm per 1000 mules of iron range. The average on these engines seems to be in the 4 ppm per 1000 mile range with some engines and oils as high as 10.
It looks very Vanilla in VOA but it's hard to argue with the very good viscosity retention, good TBN retention for a blend and low metals it seems to produce.
I'm seriously considering it for the 2.7 EB F150.

That's great. My cars were new with it and the 5w20 with a M1 or Ultra filter stays really clean. I think it's a good combination.
Both new cars are 2L 4 cylinder Mitsubishi with cvt's.

I notice after an oil change my engine is "quieter" with many oils. I use a different oil almost every change. Cars don't care much. I'm sure it's a fine oil and has a solid price from what I've seen. I doubt it's making any difference in the life expectancy or performance of your engine compared to any other decent oil. But if you believe, no harm to me!
Just put 5.5quarts of 5w30 magnatec in the Xterra today with a Hastings filter. Will see how she does.

Been pretty happy with it so far. Feels a little snappier empty than the 3.5EB (likely the settings in the PCM for throttle body opening rate). Torquier off the bottom than the 5.0. Pulls about the same with the 7000 lb as the 3.5EB with 8000 lb. Little better mpg if you keep your foot out of it. Im generally getting 450-525 miles to a 23 gallon tank with a 4x4 on the standard 23 gal tank.

I'll be switching the Volvo FROM Magnatec to Mobil 1 High Mileage on the next change. Just bought the car and service records show it has used Magnatec 5w30 exclusively for 137,000 miles. Oil fill cap and neck are completely crudded up due to 7,500 mile OCI's and a poorly designed PCV system. PCV system was completely changed by previous owner. I'm hoping the Mobil 1 High Mileage will clean it up a bit.
Magnatec is the real deal.
For years, my '08 CTS had timing chain clatter for a few seconds each time I started it up. I tried almost every major brand in 10w30 to 5w30 range (Valvoline, Mobil 1, Pennzoil, QS, Shell) Magnatec is the only oil that gets it to start silently every time, no matter how long I leave it sitting!
I also notice much less iron on the magnetic drain plug. I now use it in all my vehicles...Magnatec is no joke.

Ford puts a shorter 3.55 rear drive axle on with the 2.7 vs 3.31 rear drive with the 3.5...that is more likely to be the difference in the "little snappier" feeling.

It always befuddleseems me to where the same people who come out to claim "butt dyno affect" when someone makes the same claims about Royal Purple but don't say anything when it's another brand. On the contrary people who comment tend to be complimentary to the OP.
