I had a Victorinox chronograph that I bought in 2002. It ran fine until around 2018 and then the stopwatch function failed. I sent it in to the authorized repair station and got back a quote of $250 to repair it. I only paid around $100 when it was new. I sold it on ebay for around $20 with the defect noted. Probably to some guy who could repair it himself for a few bucks.
I do have a Swiss Army knife that I found one morning while deer hunting. It was a few days after a snowfall and I saw something red in the melting snow on the trail. I knew immediately what it was. I hosed it down with some WD40 when I got home and it's still in regular use.
I currently have a Wenger watch, another $100 purchase but it's just a regular watch with date window. I hope it is more reliable than the Victorinox chronograph. They do have Swiss quartz movements and aren't made in China so I expect a little more out of them.
