Do someone know what brand could be good for rear and front coils for a Mercury Grand Marquis 1998?
I saw that, but do you have references from Mevotech? ThanksBased on what Rockauto sells, I would go with Moog. They also appear to be a favorite with Rockauto purchasers.
Yes, I guess so, sorry! ThanksI don't think the answer has changed since the first time you posted about this..
Hi Guys
I have a doubt with my car, I have seen many other cars same year, before and after too, and what I see on my rear suspension is lower than front suspension!
I measured and rear suspension is 2" lower then front. The picture attached is not my car, but I draw a line just as a reference! Is this normal or something happened with rear suspension? Also, my car has all shock absorbers new, and when I go through the speed bumps with certain speed, not too slow, the car pass it, but going down and crash the floor over the bumps, front and rear are same, is this normal for the weight of...

Thanks, I will check itOn my old 4runner, the moog coils still had the rear sag, installed heavier emu coils and it has a nice level look. Maybe ford is a better bet.
So, you said this is not working, with this brand or this will never change no matter what I do? What do you think why even you change new coils they are in this condition! ThanksI installed Moog CC865 on my 2001 Grand marquis because the OE springs were sagging. These "heavy duty" cargo coils sag just as bad and the car still sits low in the back compared to the front. Even my little 500 pound ATV on a lightweight homemade utility trailer will have it bottoming out the rear suspension.
Thanks, I will take a note for this.I put the CC865 springs in my 2011 Crown Vic LX. They worked great for me: the original springs rode fine empty, but a couple of adults in the back seat or anything more than a load of groceries in the trunk had the headlights pointing at the moon. These improved the condition by quite a bit and didn't affect ride quality.
Without air, the factory suspension on these cars is kind of hot garbage for the dimensions of the car. Unlike cars today, the rear axle is tucked pretty far in, rear seat directly over with a ton of trunk overhang. A lot is asked of the factory rear springs and they were barely adequate when new. Sacked out after a short time. All of them should have come with air springs or air assist shocks for some load leveling capability.
Police springs give a taller ride height than civilian. The car will have a rake stance if just the rears are replaced. Also, the newest ones are now 13 years old, and new replacements are cheap. Might not be worth the effortGet used police springs from a u-pull it.
I would never put used springs which are rusted in my car. Chances of finding rust free ones in a junk yard is slim. Every spring which broke on my many Fords were rusted. To me , it's not worth the effort removing coil springs at a boneyard to put on my vehicle, especially ones from a police vehicle.Get used police springs from a u-pull it.
Hi, I bought these springs CC865, they are coming with the insulators, but I didn't know that cause they weren't shown in the description, so I bought Moog K6203-2 Insulators, and I realized the rubber material is softer than the others are coming with the springs, they said only made in USA, but not showing the brand. Which one do you recommend to install? Softer or harder material of the insulators? ThanksI put the CC865 springs in my 2011 Crown Vic LX.
