I'd say the ratio is about 60:40, but there simply are more women than men.

I was at the mall yesterday looking for baby clothes for the little one, and behind us were 2 girls, one on a cell.... all I could hear is "well yeah..." , "like....like...like" , "like no way!" , "shes such a slut" ..... when they say "valley girl" they mean san fernando valley, not the central valley.... just shut up.
I had it with cell phones!!! You know what I did?
I purchase a cell phone jammer. Yes. Ones I need peace and quiet in my "personal" space I hit the button and all cell phone in 30 feet radius are loosing signal. Works every time. And it is a size of the cell phone, is it ironic?
Love it, use in conserts, movies, free ways, and anyware where people obusing other people privecy with their pointless cell phone talk.

It's time to roll out the counter measures, but a quick search on jammers yielded this:
The FCC has fielded enough queries about the legality of cell phone jammers that it issued a notice last year. In it, the agency warns that jammers violate federal laws that broadly prohibit interfering with licensed radio spectrum. Owning, manufacturing, marketing, offering for sale or operating a cell phone jammer is punishable by an $11,000 fine and up to a year in prison for each offense, the notice states.
I'd be in for life within 3 hours! Maybe I could just release some chaff over a talker and disrupt his comm system passively.

And don't forget the civil suit when somebody dies of a heart attack because they couldn't call 911.
lol - I would love to use a jammer on the dude next to me who talked on his cell phone through most of Lord of the Rings: Return of the King (Movie 3) last year.

Oh and the note pad suction cupped to the windshield. Actually I have less trouble with people on the freeway. I remember this dolt weaving through a busy intersection with his note pad and phone.

Simply put, complain to the theatre manager. If it is bugging you, it is bugging others. Last time I was at a theatre and someone got tossed, people started clapping....
First of all, How are thay going to find out that you using the jammer? Do not advertise that you posses one to people next to you. Secondly, If some one having a hart attack, trast me you will see it from all the comotion and just simply turn jammer off, thats all. However when you are in movies, or theater there is one simple thing they can do, just walk out to the lobby and chat away. If not, you will not talk near me, that just this.

It's very easy to locate the source of radio signals, but the chances of anyone having the right equipment nearby is very remote.
I was in someone's house once, and my cellphone wasn't working. I asked if by any chance the house was constructed with foil-backed wall board. The answer was yes. Movie theatres can easily be made radio tight so that cell phones wouldn't work inside, but I suppose for 911 reasons they don't do it.

Yeah, it's bad in movies and the like, and people shouldn't be driving and handling a phone, but you need to relax some. First, in public places, you have no right to privacy. Others in public have as much right to communicate with others as you do. If you want privacy, go somewhere private. Second, how is a cell conversation different than two people in the flesh carrying on a conversation? At least with the cell conversation, you only have to listen to one half of the exchange. Finally, two wrongs make a right? You disapprove of others talking on phones when you can hear it, and in response, you commit a felony crime to stop them??? I'm sorry, but I'm not feeling much sympathy for you (nor, for that matter, for anyone else who makes themselves a criminal to achieve their own ends).
Yea..I agree. As much as it annoys the crap out out of me. Jamming is way over the line.
But I'm sure many of us old duffers committed the same crime in the days of CB radios when we threw(with a couple hundred watt linear) open carriers to shut someone up
You guys have good posts (above). I have no problem with someone talking on their cell phone. I think what crosses the line is when you have the dude in the grocery store yelling into his cell phone as if he was talking to someone 100 ft away, or someone chatting quietly (but noticably) in a movie theater.

cellphones are an electronic leash. they are worse than landlines in the sence that you cant get away.

You're half-way to controlling the thing. I don't see any obligation at all to leave my ringer on when I'd prefer not to receive any calls. Theater, dinner, taking a stroll with the wife, etc., it's OFF (unless I know for sure a critical call is inbound). It's only a leash if the control is flowing in the wrong direction. . .

Pressing the red button on almost all cellphones (1) stops the ringing and (2) sends the incoming call to voicemail.

when in the movies with my wife. we set our phones to vibrate. so incase our babysitter needs us. we can see her call. then leave the theater and see whats wrong. I agree we dont need people talking on phones in some places. they say they can ban public cell phone useage. well they can ban smoking in public places ( i know its a heath issue) I know over seas alot of countries has outlawed talking on the cell phone while driving. I wish the USA would do this. cant count how many people talking on cells and almost get hit. almost as bad as the women trying to put on make-up while do 90 on the interstate.
as far as finding jammers. they would have to be in the right place at the right time to locate the person. also most peopel that dont get a signal will just think their crappy service is acting up again. not even thing someone was jamming them.
we had a ECM officer on a BUFF that would jam a radio station to let his wife know he was in the area and to come over and get ready to pick him up. the station would be dead. but they would still have a transmit signal. the station just thought a falty transmitter was the problem. he did this for over 5 years before the base was closed. no one knew about it. but the people on the flightline.
the theater we go to. can get a signal untill the movie starts then its no signal. so I think they have a jammer in there somewhere. as far as the person having a heart attack in a public place. there are pay phones around. I know alot of 911 operators dont like cell phone calls as they cant have a location pop up. so they think its a prank call. also some places like where I live cell phone call made to 911 is sent to a 911 setup over 90 miles away.

I would pay good money for a "jammer" that would disable the cars that go "Booom....boom-boom....boooooom...."
